Stanford Graduate School of Business Professor Charles O’Reilly says many companies are good at developing and incubating new ideas — but they stumble when it comes time to invest the resources necessary to scale them.
I was lucky enough to have Professor O’Reilly as a teacher while at Stanford and his vision about the importance of the processes of ideation, incubation and scaling was enlightening. It is a practical reinterpretation of Christensen “Innovators Dilemma” and should be a compulsory lesson for many companies that still mixes innovation with PR.
