This session will summarise the main recommendations that emerged over the two days’ conference and conclude with the new orientation and strategic direction to propel the tourism industry to new heights of development for the long-lasting benefit of the global community.

Speaker: Dr Robin Nunkoo, Head of the International Centre for Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality, University of Mauritius Dr Nunkoo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management and the Head of the International Center for Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality at the University of Mauritius; a Visiting Senior Research Fellow in the Faculty of Management at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa; and an Adjunct Research Fellow at Griffith Institute for Tourism, Griffith University.

1. Dr Sudhir Andrews, Partner and MD, SkillMaker Consultancy Pvt. Ltd, India Dr Andrews is a well-known and decorated hospitality educationist and author in India and has commissioned many private and public hotel management schools. He is the author of 11 Hospitality books published by Tata-Mc Graw-Hill Publishing which are accepted as the official textbooks/reference books of the hospitality industry. For his contribution to hospitality education in India he has received many awards..

2. Dr Dirk Glaesser, Director of Sustainable Development of Tourism Programme, UNWTO Dr Glaesser obtained his Ph.D. from the University of Lüneburg, Germany and won the ITB scientific award for his work on Crisis Management. He is the author of a number of publications which have been widely translated. The Department for Sustainable Development of Tourism deals with the different challenges and opportunities of tourism

development, among them environment and planning, investment and finance, risk and crisis management. Moderator: Professor Geoffrey Lipman, President, International Coalition of Tourism Partners Professor Lipman promotes Tourism as an important socio-economic sector and has also helped in pioneering new travel & tourism measuring systems and green certification. He devised UNWTO ST-EP Program and is a long-time collaborator of the World Economic Forum.
