Technology is reshaping tourism businesses and redefining the contours of the tourism environment. Intelligence has become a fundamental tool for the strategic management of any destination. Business intelligence, big data, robots and artificial intelligence are innovative and powerful instruments of smart tourism. This session will address the impact of new technological developments on different tourism businesses (Internet of Things (IoT), Chatbots, Blockchain and virtual assistants). It also aims at examining the influences of technological innovation and applications on tourism development.

He has been in various leadership positions and has adjudicated the South African Tourism Awards for the last 4 consecutive years, and is currently the CEO of an International hospitality consultancy. As an ICF accredited Business & Life skills coach he understands like no other the importance of continuous improvement and keeping up with the new eras which include technology. Technology plays an ever increasing role in the hospitality industry and can add a lot of value to the customer experience.
